Rev Anthony Luxton, Executive Director

Anthony grew up in the South East of England but moved up to Scotland with his wife, Rachel, when they had their first child, Ethan in 2013 (followed a few years later by our youngest Isla). Around that time Anthony began a new chapter as he responded to a call into Christian Ministry. While studying Theology at the Scottish Baptist College he was inducted as pastor of Dunfermline West Baptist Church.

Fast forward a couple of years into a pandemic and little did Anthony know that his previous skills, running a graphic design and software development business, would be sorely needed if not essential. In 2022, Anthony was inducted as a pastor at Stirling Baptist Church, where he is working in a team ministry.

Today, Anthony shares his time between pastoring in Stirling and exercising his creative gifts in Hope Fuelled Design. Additionally, Anthony is passionate about spending time outdoors whether on the sharp end of a rope, running over hills or participating in the Ochils Mountain Rescue Team.

What is your favourite bible story?
One of my favourite bible stories is when Jesus meet the Samaritan Woman at the well. For me the story captures how Jesus meets all of us in the grittiness of life. The story is inspiring, challenging and grace filled. Did you know that it is arguable that the Samaritan Woman is the first evangelist? Because she told her village all about Jesus.

The time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. … The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” Then Jesus told her, “I am the Messiah!” (John 4:21-26)
